ABSTRACT

"Eyes are windows to the soul" - we can smell a rose but cannot see the immense beauty of it without eyes. Dramatic increase in asthenopic symptoms in the students and workers caused by electricity outage is common ocular problem in the rural areas of India. Moreover, Computer vision syndrome (CVS) has extended their deteriorative arms worldwide in post-COVID era due to increased screentime by extensive use of digital gadgets. Blue light released from digital gadgets causes macular degeneration through various factors including oxidative stress. Thus, there is a dire need of mitigative measures against CVS and electricity outage mediated asthenopic symptoms. The aim of the present study was to develop a preventive measure against asthenopia induced mental and ocular disorder. A spectacle frame having blue light blocking glasses along with strip of warm white LED was taken. The hollow temples of spectacles had a wire which was connected to LED strip on one end and another end was connected with neck band having rechargeable battery and intensity regulator feature. A prototype of advance eyewear was developed and patent was published (IPR Application no. 202211006479). Product of this prototype will be developed and commercialized through optical agencies (under discussion with Lenskart & Royal son). First 1 00 samples of the product will be distributed to the students of rural areas under community services. Therefore, it's most plausible applications may be Used as a preventive approach against asthenopia caused by electricity outage and CVS.Useful for the professionals working in dark areas (mechanic, Plumber, Electrician etc).

ABSTRACT

The public health sector of any country deals on the forefront and utilizes the multidisciplinary approach. In India the Masters of Public Health graduates are trained in unstandardized manner and lack a regulatory body. The gap created in serving the unserved can easily be fulfilled by utilization of this workforce in systematic manner, The emerging competition in the field, undervalued sector in terms of monitory benefits, poor demand and limited training institutions for MPH graduates along with the contribution of MPH during COVID 19 pandemic has been emphasized in the article. The perception of those working in the field has been highlighted with the way ahead of MPH program in India.

The objective of this study is to know the growth of customers and revenues due to digitalization in the banking sector during the period of covid-19. ABSTRACT

Being researchers, it is an utmost responsibility to provide insight on social issues thus, this work addresses the dynamic modeling of first and most contagious disease named as COVID-19 caused by coronavirus. The first case of COVID-19 appeared in Pakistan was on 26th February 2020 and in Malaysia on 27th February 2020;both patients had foreign travel history. In the paper, the number of total affected cases and total deaths in both countries, are quite the same up till 12th April 2020 but the frequency of new cases per day and recovery rate are different from one another. The movement control approach had also been imposed on 18th March 2020 by both countries. Keeping these facts and figures, the paper proposes a mathematical model based on Lotka-Volterra equations and provides numerical solution of differential equations using the suspectable, exposed, infected, and recovered people data to estimate future consequences and address the difference in the growth rate of COVID-19 patients before and after locked down to reduce the spread further by taking pro-active approaches i.e., social distancing and being quarantined for the essential time frame. © 2021 IEEE

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Contact tracing commenced in districts of Western Rajasthan in March 2020 to control the spread of Covid-19.It was an ongoing process involving isolation and sampling of contacts. Multi department Quick and Rapid response teams (Q/RRT) worked continuously as the pandemic passed through different stages. The objectives of the study was to compare the challenges faced during contact tracing and document good practices in place. Methods: A cross –sectional study was done among contact tracers using a semi structured questionnaire in Google forms in three districts of Pali, Jodhpur and Barmer. Keeping power of study at 80%, 5% error and 95% confidence interval, assuming 50% prevalence of effective contact tracing and 10 % non-response total 400, i.e 133 participants from each district. Results: Major challenges faced by tracers were resistance to contact sampling (64%)lack of training (49%), and random sampling workload (47%). Overall 36% of contacts had downloaded the Aarogya setu app but among them only 68% were using the app. Trainings, workload distribution and inter-sectoral coordination was best in Jodhpur, Barmer and Pali respectively. Conclusions: Trainings helped in better field management of resistance to sampling among contacts. Excessive workload of lab technicians lead to errors in reporting. Transport for sampling of contacts was a challenge in remote areas. The Aarogya setu app was not used by all contacts. Regular feedback meetings by local administration helped in effective contact tracing.

Background-With the high morbidity and mortality year 2020 will be remembered as Covid19 pandemic year. Occupational exposure to COVID 19 among health care workers poses a major risk to their lives. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) prophylaxis has been indicated for their use without much scientific evidence. Objective-to find if HCQ prophylaxis had association with Covid19 infection prevention among health care workers. Material &Method-A retrospective cohort study was conducted;through online by utilizing social media platform, among Health care workers of a tertiary care hospital from 1st June 2020 to 27 July 2020. Those HCWs who have taken HCQ (exposed) and who have not taken (nonexposed) and PCR tested Covid19 Positive were taken as diseased. Results Out of 527 who were analyzed, study subjects who took HCQ prophylaxis had 30% less chance of having Covid19 test positive, {RR-0.709(0.383-1.296)} as compared those who didn’t took it, but the results were not significant. Conclusion-Hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis does not prevent Covid 19 infection and more evidence may be required for use of HCQ prophylaxis for Covid19 infection. © 2021, Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine.
